Suffering from itchy, red, irritated eyes? These frustrating symptoms can go hand in hand with the changing of the seasons and be an annoyance to many.

We want to help!

There are many allergy eye drops to choose from, but the one we often recommend is Pataday. This antihistamine eye drop has required a prescription in the past but is now available over the counter! Awesome!

If you are a contact lens wearer these symptoms can be amplified as the allergens tend to stick to the surface of the contact lens. Refitting into a daily disposable lens modality can be very helpful in alleviating allergic symptoms.

Some “allergy eye” cases are more severe and might need an evaluation in the office. In these situations, steroid eye drops can be prescribed to provide faster relief. You don’t have to live with itchy, watery, red eyes! Don’t hesitate to contact us for help.

Exciting news- There is a new contact lens design with allergy medication embedded in the lens. The normal blinking mechanism causes the antihistamine to be released directly onto the eye throughout the day. We are expecting this product by the fall allergy season and could be a GAME-CHANGER for contact lens wearers who suffer from allergies.
