In the spirit of preserving the gift of sight, we are excited to put a spotlight on Save Your Vision Month throughout March. This annual observance encourages us to take proactive steps towards maintaining healthy eyes and preventing vision issues. This year, we draw attention to a growing concern – the prevalence of myopia.
Myopia, or nearsightedness, has become increasingly common in today’s fast-paced world. The surge in screen time, especially with the rise of digital devices, has contributed to a significant uptick in myopia cases among children. As we immerse ourselves in the digital age, it’s crucial to raise awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups and adopting habits that
promote eye health. Some good habits include: at least 10 hours of outdoor time a week, every 20 minutes looking at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. These can help towards the goal of healthier eyes!
When should you see the Eye Doctor? Here are some of our general guidelines!
-
Once 6-12 months of age (InfantSEE free screening)
-
Once at age 3
-
Annually from ages 5 and up!
Clear vision, clear future. Let’s make it happen!
